Nigeria Implements 30-Day Visa-Free Entry for Rwandan Nationals
In a significant step that further strengthens bilateral relations, the Government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria has implemented a 30-day visa-free entry policy for Rwandan nationals. The decision was reached following productive bilateral discussions between His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and His Excellency President Paul Kagame at the Urugwiro Presidential Villa in Kigali, on the margins of the Africa CEO Forum. It reciprocates the existing 30-day visa-free arrangement that the Government of Rwanda has long extended to Nigerian citizens. Under this bilateral arrangement, Rwandan nationals may now enter Nigeria without a visa and stay for a period not exceeding thirty (30) days for lawful purposes. These include tourism, business, trade, investment exploration, official engagements, and cultural exchanges.
The Nigeria Immigration Service has confirmed that all necessary arrangements have been completed, and the policy is now operational at all international airports, land borders, and seaports in Nigeria. Deepening Friendship and Cooperation. This landmark decision reflects the warm and growing partnership between Rwanda and Nigeria. It builds on recent high-level engagements between the two countries and demonstrates a shared commitment to enhancing people-to-people contacts, promoting intra-African trade, and advancing the goals of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) and broader continental integration.
This development marks another milestone in the excellent relations between Rwanda and Nigeria and opens a new chapter of enhanced cooperation for the mutual benefit of both nations.
